WHO WE ARE

Hi, I’m Dean—the artist and founder of Lionheart Art.

Lionheart Art is a forge of powerful visual storytelling, blending realism, mythology, and dark fantasy with cinematic design. Each piece is conjured to capture strength, beauty, imagination, and meaning.

My work is inspired by legendary warriors, ancient worlds, faith, sacrifice, redemption, and the triumph of light over adversity. Whether created digitally or traditionally, every piece reflects the same commitment to strong composition, skilled craftsmanship, and continual growth.

Lionheart Art is more than a collection of images. It is an evolving journey of creativity, purpose, and storytelling.

Thank you for being part of it.

Growth is built one piece at a time. This gallery follows my artistic journey from beginner studies to the work I create today, reflecting years of practice, persistence, and a commitment to continually refining the craft.

  • A black and white drawing of a human eye with detailed eyelashes and iris.

First Study — Eye (August 22, 2024) My first formal study. This drawing focuses on basic observation, line control, and value placement while learning the structure of the eye. Simple in execution, but foundational — this piece marks the starting point of my drawing practice.

  • A pencil sketch of a woman's face, with one eye winking and her tongue sticking out, on plain paper.

First Portrait Attempt (September 6, 2024) My first full portrait drawing. This piece was an early attempt at understanding facial proportions and head structure. While there are clear inaccuracies, it represents an important step in learning how to construct the face and identify areas that needed improvement.

  • Hand-drawn sketch of a woman with glasses and earrings, facing right.

QUICK LIKENESS SKETCH (SEPTEMBER 6, 2024) A fast portrait sketch created to test how quickly a recognizable likeness could be captured with minimal lines. The focus here was speed, observation, and instinct rather than refinement, serving as an early exercise in efficiency and visual accuracy.

  • A black and white pencil drawing of a coffee mug with a small crown logo on it, placed on a surface with a shadow cast underneath.

(September 8) A graphite drawing of a mug focused on basic form and light. In hindsight, this piece would benefit from stronger contrast—pushing the darks deeper and the highlights lighter—to increase depth and clarity. I would also soften and simplify the handle, removing the harder lines to achieve a more natural, unified shape.

  • Sketch of a young woman with detailed eyes, eyebrows, nose, and lips, with loose hair falling around her face.

(September 8) A quick graphite portrait sketch focused on capturing likeness and facial structure without committing to full refinement. This drawing was exploratory in nature, prioritizing proportion, eye placement, and expression over detail, serving as a loose study rather than a finished piece.

  • A pencil sketch of a woman's face on paper, showing her eyes, nose, parted lips, and hair.

(September 8) A quick portrait study focused on capturing likeness with speed and confidence. The emphasis here was on eye placement, facial angles, and overall structure rather than finish. With more time, I would have refined the jawline, adjusted the mouth alignment, and pushed the value contrast to strengthen depth and realism.

  • A side profile pencil portrait of a woman with her hair pulled back.

Profile Drawing (September 30, 2024) A straightforward profile study focused on head structure, proportions, and clean linework. This drawing was an exercise in simplifying complex forms and maintaining rhythm through the jaw, neck, and silhouette. Looking back, I could have pushed the ear placement, jaw flow, and overall value separation a bit further, but this study played an important role in sharpening my foundational understanding of profile construction.

  • A pencil sketch of a woman's face with detailed eyes, nose, and lips, partially sketched hair, on white paper.

Graphite Portrait Study [September 30, 2024] A loose graphite portrait focused on capturing overall structure and expression rather than refinement. This study explores facial balance, eye placement, and subtle asymmetry, with light construction lines left visible to show the thinking process behind the form. Emphasis is placed on observation and speed—prioritizing likeness and gesture over polish.

  • A pencil sketch of a woman's face on paper, showing her eyes, nose, lips, and hair.

PORTRAIT STUDY (SEPTEMBER 30, 2024) A portrait study focused on facial structure, proportion, and feature placement. The goal was to capture likeness while maintaining simple forms and clear construction. Looking back, I placed greater emphasis on detail than necessary, whereas value relationships and form are what truly create depth and believability. While there are areas that could be refined further, this study played an important role in developing my understanding of observation, portrait construction, and the importance of seeing the larger shapes before the smaller details.

  • A pencil sketch of a woman's face with light hair, expressive eyes, smiling mouth, and slightly visible shoulders on paper.

    Smiling Portrait Sketch

  • Sketch of a person's face, focusing on the eyebrows, eyes, and nose, drawn with pencil on paper.

    Flowing Hair Portrait Sketch

  • A dark, ominous throne room with stone columns covered in spider webs, lit by torches. A lion emblem is on the wall behind an empty throne, with smoke and embers scattered around the floor.
